The Path of the Museum

The Path of the Museum

In the conference room, an introductory video welcomes visitors of the historic museum of Copper. The copper machining during the past is represented with many accurate video clips. Inside the museum, the first environment is about Foundry where big mallets and fire of the smithy helps provide the transformation of the raw materials to give the first form. An ancient and fascinating world is visible only thanks to this kind of reconstruction of Agnone starting from the Middle Ages until the 1970s, the same period when it has been closed the biggest workplace of copper, called San Quirico.

The second environment is a small workshop of coppersmiths where the artisan pure artist of the red metal, worked hard to make a response to the demand of the market producing tine, bowls and pots of the best quality. 100 original tools such as "cavalli", "panca", "palacciuolo" and the agile "a becco di cigno" are an example of how visiting the museum is an immersion in this art that make Agnone famous in all Kingdom of Napoli. The path continues showing Felice Gerbasi's workshop (Francesco's father) who was capable during the 60's to transform the old art into modern art realising different items with big values.

At the end, the museum has 100 ancient pieces from different eras for example "Tina p'Agnone".
